About Evelina


Young lyric soprano Evelina Smolina was born in Riga, Latvia. In February 2019, Evelina had a debut performance at Carnegie Hall (Weill Recital Hall) in the Crescendo International Competition's winner’s recital as a Grand Prix recipient.

Later this year, in St. Petersburg, Russia, she performed in the Open Seasons Fest 2019 under the baton of maestro Fabio Mastrangelo.

In March 2020, Evelina had a significant debut on the main stage of the Mikhailovsky Theater in St. Petersburg, alongside outstanding opera singers Aida Garifullina and Ildar Abdrazakov— where Evelina performed Adina’s aria, accompanied by Mikhailovsky Theater Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Mikhail Tatarnikov.

In May 2023, Ms.Smolina received a Bachelor's Degree in Classical Voice at the Manhattan School of Music, studio of Shirley Close. During her last year of studies, Evelina had a chance to work with great coaches, such as Thomas Lausmann, Myra Huang, Bryan Wagorn, and others.

Currently, Ms.Smolina is a Master's student at the University of Arts Berlin under the guidance of Evelin Novak. At the same time, Evelina is focused on the auditions for the young artist's programs, expanding her repertoire and growth as an artist.

In February 2025 Evelina will make her debut as Giselher and Waldvogel, in the Tischlerei of the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
