Welcome

I am Evelina Smolina, an opera singer at the beginning of my professional journey. This website is a window into my world — a place where music, passion, and purpose meet. Here, you’ll find my work, my story, and the path I’m beginning to carve on the operatic stage.

Above all, what I cherish most in singing is the emotional exchange with the audience — that shared moment where music speaks beyond words.

Thank you for visiting and for being part of this journey.

Young lyric soprano Evelina Smolina was born in Riga, Latvia. In February 2019, she made her debut at Carnegie Hall (Weill Recital Hall) in the Crescendo International Competition Winners’ Recital as a Grand Prix recipient. Later that year, she performed at the Open Seasons Fest 2019 in St. Petersburg, Russia, under the baton of maestro Fabio Mastrangelo.

In March 2020, Evelina had a major debut on the main stage of the Mikhailovsky Theater in St.Petersburg, performing Adina’s aria alongside renowned opera singers Aida Garifullina and Ildar Abdrazakov. She was accompanied by the Mikhailovsky Theater Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Mikhail Tatarnikov.

In May 2023, Ms. Smolina earned a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Voice from the Manhattan School of Music, where she studied under Shirley Close. During her final year, she had the opportunity to work with distinguished coaches such as Thomas Lausmann, Myra Huang, BryanWagorn, and others.

In February 2025, Evelina successfully debuted as Giselher and Waldvogel in the production “Ab in den Ring” at the Tischlerei of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, under the baton of Elda Laro.

Currently, Ms. Smolina is pursuing her Master’s degree at the University of the Arts Berlin, studying with Evelin Novak. At the same time, she is actively expanding her repertoire, and continuing her artistic development.
